The crossarm axle springs can be mounted and dismounted with the device using special spring holders, space permitting. It includes pairs of size 1 and 2 spring holders for springs with an inner diameter of 85 mm to 170 mm. Additional spring holders are available for spring diameters from 60 mm (inner diameter) to 205 mm (outer diameter). Maximum load: 27,500 N (with a prescribed safety factor of 4, the maximum load of the spring compressor is 27,500 N). The universal spring compressor features a grid system that allows the minimum opening range (opening distance) to be adjusted from 40 mm to a maximum of 361 mm. This is important when tensioning very short springs (2-3 coils) and very long springs, allowing them to be fully relaxed or replaced. • In which the forged spring supports are secured by a self-locking bayonet system (no tools, screws, or threaded rings required). • In which the coil drive remains closed when the safety pin is released. The tensioned spring can then be loosened with an auxiliary drive to proceed with the installation of a new safety pin. • In which overloading of the coil during the relaxation process is prevented by means of automatic disengagement upon reaching the maximum working travel. This is important to prevent damage to the spring compressor. • Which, through a wide assortment of spring supports, is suitable for almost all MacPherson strut axles, shock absorber shafts, and, to some extent, control arm axles. Thanks to the interaction of high-precision components and the use of wear-resistant nitrided steel, the clamping cylinder operates very smoothly and with virtually no wear. For example, when tensioning a Mercedes M-Class spring with a locking force of approximately 18,000 N, only an operating force of 35 Nm is required.
