Pasamuros navales: ¿todos sirven para lo mismo? 🔍⚓ - Ferrotecnia

Naval bulkheads: Do they all serve the same purpose? 🔍⚓

Not all marine bulkheads perform the same function or offer the same performance. Choosing the right sealing system can make the difference between a passing inspection and a technical problem during operation.

In general, we find 3 main types:

  • Poured rigid (epoxy): These form a solid block around the cables. They are effective against fire, but not very flexible: they cannot be modified without breaking the entire assembly.
  • Mechanical modular: These use blocks or joints that snap onto the wiring. They require a metal or pre-welded structure. They are highly re-entryable, but cost more and require slower assembly.
  • Intumescent modulars (such as GEAQUELLO® E 950 + R 380): These combine modules that envelop each wire with a fluid seal. They are not strictly re-entrant, but allow for future modifications by reapplying the seal. A-60 certified, easy to install, and water and gas tight.

Each type has its place, but if you're looking for security, adaptability, and efficiency without mechanical complexity, you should be familiar with SVT's solution.
